In the series  „Archäologie und Geschichte. Freiburger Forschungen zum ersten Jahrtausend in Süddeutschland“ the research network „Archäologie und Geschichte des ersten Jahrtausends in Südwestdeutschland“ („Archaeology and history of the first millenium in southern Germany”) based at Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg has been publishing monographs and collected writings since 1986. Founded in 1984 it today comprises the subjects of prehistoric archeology, provincial Roman archeology as well protohistoric archeology and archeology of the middle ages, medieval history and regional history.

"Archäologischen Berichte" (Arch. Ber.) is the monograph series of DGUF. It has been published since 1987, with a frequency of approximately one volume a year. Volume 25 (2014) and all later volumes have been published both in print, and online in Open Access. If needed, additional material and Open Data can be included in the online-version.

Archäologische Informationen aus Baden-Württemberg

The series “Archäologische Informationen aus Baden-Württemberg” (Archaeological Information from Baden-Wuerttemberg) has a focus on regional topics of archaeological heritage conservation and a predominantly popular scientific orientation. It is complemented by companion volumes for exhibitions as well as more specialized publications such as conference reports. The thematic spectrum covers the entire range of archeology from the Paleolithic to the Early Modern Era, including related natural sciences.

Archäologische Quellen

Archäologische Quellen (Arch. Quellen) are a monograph series founded by DGUF in 2017 which serves as a collection of “sources”, i.e. documentation of excavations, finds etc. These are presented without any in-depth research analysis. The sources only offer very few clues on the finds; they serve as raw material for further scientific investigation which can then be presented in future publications. The Archäologische Quellen are published in a print edition and – in collaboration with Heidelberg University Library - online in the golden way Open Access. The online edition may include additional material such as large-format maps of digs and open data.

Proceedings of the 19th International Congress of Classical Archaeology, Cologne/Bonn 2018

These volumes form the final publication of the 19th International Congress of Classical Archaeology, which was held from 22 to 26 May 2018 in Cologne and Bonn on behalf of the 'Associazione Internazionale di Archaeologica Classica (AIAC)'. Under the title 'Archaeology and Economy in the Ancient World' more than 900 presentations, divided into 11 sections and 128 panels, dealt with various aspects of ancient economic history.

In the series, 49 of these panels have been presented as independent thematic volumes. The further contributions are compiled in four collective volumes.

The series Ars Didactica - Marburger Beiträge zu Studium und Didaktik der Alten Sprachen, founded in 2015 by Boris Dunsch, Magnus Frisch, Hans-Joachim Glücklich, Rainer Nickel and Felix M. Prokoph, is a forum for publications on the didactics of teaching in ancient languages as well as for textbooks and workbooks on the study of classical philology. The series includes didactic monographs and anthologies on the teaching of Latin and Greek at school as well as "auxiliary books" for their study at university.

The series serves as the publication organ of the Leibniz ScienceCampus Mainz research programme dedicated to Byzantium, focused on Byzantium‘s role in bridging east and west, and in facilitating cultural transfer and how it was perceived by other cultures, from antiquity until the modern era.
