The historical development of old-language teaching in the Federal Republic of Germany is comprehensively presented for the first time in this newly published volume. By systematically taking stock of and analyzing the didactic and methodological guidelines of this epoch, the work closes a gap in research on the history of old-language teaching in Germany and at the same time lays a solid foundation for the discussion of future justification, form and further development of the school subjects Latin and Greek.
