Jochen Sauer (Hrsg.), Augustinus: De civitate Dei. Fachwissenschaftliche und fachdidaktische Zugänge
The writing De civitate Dei by the religious philosopher and church father Augustine, written in the years 413-426, combines in many ways state and social theory, individual ethics and historical theology. Ancient philosophy is rethought from a Christian perspective. The five contributions in this volume take up the challenge of providing access to this demanding work and showing ways in which students of Latin in particular, but also students of the subject, can be introduced to the Augustinian theory of state and philosophy of religion.
