Kristina Nowak-Klimscha, Die früh- bis hochmittelalterliche Wüstung Twesine im Hochsauerlandkreis. Siedlungsentwicklung an der Grenze zum Frankenreich
At the foot of the mountain plateau of Eresburg - today's Obermarsberg - is the early to high medieval deserted village of Twesine. This settlement has a special significance for the history of Westphalia, since early relics of copper smelting were discovered here. Whether the settlement with the metallurgical knowledge available here, together with Eresburg Castle, was made a pawn of Charlemagne's power and economic-political interests in the Saxon wars is a topic of this volume.
