Propylaeum

The center of the Roman city of Lopodunum was dominated by a complex of forum and basilica, which was characterized by an enormous area and large expansions. Except for the remains of the foundations, only a little of the buildings remained in the medieval core of today's city of Ladenburg. This newly published book explains the considerations that led to the virtual 3D reconstruction of the ancient forum, as it is presented today in the Lobdengau Museum in Ladenburg. In addition to the presentation of the reconstruction approaches, perspectives for the further scientific study of the historically important Roman building complex are shown.
