In volume 5 of the series Archäologie und Geschichte. Freiburger Forschungen zum ersten Jahrtausend in Südwestdeutschland treat Roland Rappmann and Alfons Zettler the commemorative books of the monastery Reichenau. The monastery was a Christian center in medieval Europe and the commemorative books are unique documents of the social, political and ecclesiastical life of that time, which are comprehensively and in this volume appreciated for their importance for the history of Western monasticism.
