Elke Seibert , Agathe Cabau , Markus A. Castor (Eds.): Discovering/Uncovering the Modernity of Prehistory
When did abstraction begin? How did prehistoric artefacts contribute to solve artistic problems of European avant-gardists? These fundamental art historical questions about prehistory and modernity are being widely discussed in both French as well as German art history, though the traditions differ. The newly published volume in the "Passages online" series collects conference papers (German Center for the History of Art Paris, 2017) that raise awareness, initiate a dialog and inspire further research.
