Das Dynameron des Nikolaos Myrepsos

Erstedition

The Dynameron of the Nikolaos Myrepsos is critically edited for the first time after eight centuries. It is a text from the Byzantine and early Modern medical and pharmaceutical history and is in a continuation of a long tradition of manuals, as they have been around since antiquity. The text contains as a consequence of its history, words from all phases of the Greek language, as well as foreign and loanwords from Persian, Arabic and Latin. The Dynameron was already known from the Latin translation and has contributed with its recipes to the creation of the first occidental pharmacy manuals, the well-known Pharmacopoeia.
