»Ressourcen der Resilienz« in der Antike
Materielle, performative und narrative Praktiken und Strategien
How did ancient societies deal with existential threats and what strategies did they use to counter crises of various kinds? This volume systematically explores these questions by investigating the interdisciplinary applications and perspectives of historical resilience studies. A distinction is made between material practices, performative strategies and resilience narratives, and resilience is treated as an attribution phenomenon that takes into account the perspectives of both the sources and the research. In particular, the volume makes socio-ecological resilience theories applicable for the study of ancient societies.
