The response of Ukrainian graphic artists

Marianna Levytska is a proactive researcher and lecturer with 15+ years of experience in the field of art history research and teaching at undergraduate and Informationen über die Autor:innen/Information about the authors graduate levels. She obtained her M.A. (1997) and Ph.D. qualifications at the Lviv National Academy of Arts (2003). She specializes in Central and East European art (Ukrainian and Polish) of the 19th century within the Habsburg monarchy. She has a particular interest in the post-colonial history of art and processes of national identity formation among non-state ethnic groups. Her primary research has focused on the memorial and pictorial peculiarities of Ukrainian portrait painting (Ph.D. thesis). Her current research is centred on the reframing of the sacral spaces of Ukrainian.
