Musik und Puppen

Based on a symposium, the volume discusses in various contributions the relationship between music and puppet theatre, which has a long and varied history. On the one hand, it focuses on the performance of opera with puppets in the 18th century and musicalised puppet theatre in the middle of the 20th century; on the other hand, the volume takes a look at the integration of puppet themes in the subject, aesthetics and staging of opera with real singers. This focus is complemented by a historical tour of the relationship between puppets and music and a look at the institutionalisation of puppetry in international organisations, using UNIMA and UNESCO as examples.

Adrian Kuhl studierte Musikwissenschaft, Deutsche Philologie und Philosophie in Heidelberg (2013 Promotion). 2011–2015 Lehraufträge in Heidelberg und Würzburg, 2012–2016 Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Musikwissenschaftlichen Seminar Heidelberg. Seit 2016 ist er Arbeitsstellenleiter bei der Bernd Alois Zimmermann-Gesamtausgabe an der Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main.

Silke Leopold studierte Musikwissenschaft, Theaterwissenschaft, Romanistik und Literaturwissenschaft in Hamburg und Rom (1975 Promotion, 1987 Habilitation). Sie war Ordinaria für Musikwissenschaft an der Universität/Gesamthochschule Paderborn und der Musikhochschule Detmold (1991–1996) sowie Ordinaria und Direktorin des Musikwissenschaftlichen Seminars in Heidelberg (1996–2014).

Dorothea Redepenning, Professorin für Musikwissenschaft (i. R.) an der Universität Heidelberg. Arbeitsschwerpunkte: Musik Osteuropas, besonders Russlands, der Sowjetunion und der postsowjetischen Zeit, die Musik des 19. und 20.
